Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Weight Care Edit for using weightcareedit.com. They're written to be read, so most sections are short. Some of them, near the end, limit what you can claim from us and where a dispute can be heard. Please read those with care.

Accepting these terms

By visiting or using Weight Care Edit, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy, which explains how we handle information. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. In these terms, "Weight Care Edit," "we" and "us" mean the publisher of weightcareedit.com, and "you" means anyone who uses it.

Who can use the site

Weight Care Edit is meant for adults in the United States. By using it, you confirm that you're at least 18 years old. The drugs, prices and providers we describe are US ones, and nothing here is meant as an offer or a guide for any other country.

What Weight Care Edit is

Weight Care Edit is a free publication. It explains GLP-1 drugs, metformin, rapamycin and related prescriptions, what they cost through telehealth programs, and how those programs compare against a published set of checks. It includes drug guides, research answers, provider reviews, scored lineups and cost tools. Pages and features can be added, changed or retired whenever we choose, and we don't promise that any of them will stay available.

Information only, not medical advice

Everything on Weight Care Edit is general information. None of it is medical advice, and none of it is legal, financial or insurance advice either. Nothing here diagnoses a condition, recommends a treatment for you, or tells you to start, stop or change a medication. Doses we mention come from drug labels, published trials or common prescribing practice, and they are context for a conversation with your prescriber, not instructions.

Talk to a licensed clinician who knows your history before you make any decision about your health. If you think you're having a medical emergency, call 911. Our health disclaimer explains these limits in more detail, and it is part of these terms.

No doctor–patient relationship

Reading Weight Care Edit, using a cost tool or writing to us doesn't create a doctor–patient, clinician–patient, pharmacist–patient or any other professional relationship. Our writers and editors aren't acting as your clinicians, and they won't answer personal medical questions.

Providers are separate companies

The telehealth companies, clinics and pharmacies we write about are independent businesses. Weight Care Edit doesn't prescribe, sell, compound, dispense or ship any medication, and it doesn't employ or supervise any clinician or pharmacist we mention.

When you visit a provider, sign up, pay or receive care, you're dealing with that provider, and its own terms and privacy policy apply. Questions about prescriptions, shipments, refunds, billing, cancellations or the quality of care belong with the provider. We aren't a party to those transactions and aren't responsible for them, including for a provider's prices, products, eligibility rules, pharmacy partners or conduct.

Check that any prescriber is licensed in your state and that any pharmacy is licensed before you pay.

Affiliate relationships

Some links on Weight Care Edit are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when a reader signs up with a provider after following one. You pay the same price either way. Compensation never changes a score or an assessment. How we make money explains these relationships and their limits.

Prices and accuracy

Every price and fact here is meant to be right and current, and our pages are dated. Even so, providers change prices, plans, promotions and policies often, sometimes without notice, and a page may describe what was true when it was last checked. A price on Weight Care Edit isn't an offer from us or a quote from the provider. Always check the current price, terms and availability with the provider directly, on its own website, before paying.

If you find an error, please tell us through the corrections mailbox on the contact page. The corrections log shows what we've fixed.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Weight Care Edit lawfully and in a way that doesn't harm the site or other readers. You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, crawl, harvest or extract content or data from the site with bots, scripts or other automated tools, except for search engines and answer engines that follow our robots.txt file to index and cite pages;
• send automated or fake traffic, clicks or sign-ups through any link on the site;
• get around or interfere with the site's security, bot protection or rate limits;
• try to reach parts of the site or its systems that aren't public;
• upload or send malware, or anything that could disable, overload or damage the site;
• use the site to break any law, or to infringe anyone's rights; or
• present our content as your own, or imply that Weight Care Edit backs you or anything you sell.

Our hosting provider screens traffic for bots and may block or challenge requests that look automated. We may limit or cut off access for anyone who doesn't follow them.

Our content and your license to use it

The writing, scores, tables, illustrations, design and code of Weight Care Edit, and the Weight Care Edit name and sunrise mark, belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. They're protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to read the site and use it for your own non-commercial purposes. You may share links to any page and quote short passages with credit to Weight Care Edit and a link back. You may not republish whole pages, reproduce our scores, lineups or price tables in bulk, or use our content to build a competing product or dataset, without our written permission. Anything not granted here is reserved.

Drug names, company names and logos that appear on the site belong to their owners, and their appearance doesn't mean those owners sponsor or approve Weight Care Edit.

Messages and feedback you send us

Weight Care Edit has no comments, forums or uploads. If you send us a correction, tip, suggestion or other feedback, you agree we can use it to improve the site with no payment or credit owed, though we're happy to credit you if you ask. Please don't send anything confidential, and don't send medical records. What we do with the information in your message is covered by our privacy policy.

If you think we used your work

If you think Weight Care Edit has used your copyrighted work without permission, tell us through the legal mailbox on the contact page and we'll look into it.

No warranties

Weight Care Edit comes "as is" and "as available." Where the law lets us, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and any warranty of accuracy or completeness. We don't promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful code, or that any information on it is current. Some states don't allow certain warranties to be disclaimed, so some of this may not apply to you.

Limits on our liability

Where the law lets us limit it, Weight Care Edit and its writers, editors and operators won't be responsible for punitive, exemplary, special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or for lost profits, lost data, personal injury or costs of substitute services, arising from or related to your use of the site, your reliance on anything published on it, or your dealings with any provider, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these terms or the site won't exceed $100 (one hundred US dollars). Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

Indemnification

If your use of Weight Care Edit in breach of these terms, or your violation of law or of anyone else's rights, leads to a claim against us, you agree to defend and indemnify Weight Care Edit and the people who write, edit and run it, and to hold them harmless from the resulting losses, liabilities, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees.

Ending access

You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or end anyone's access, without notice, if we believe they've broken these terms or the law. The sections on our content, feedback, warranties, liability, indemnification and disputes continue to apply after access ends.

Governing law and where disputes are heard

Texas law governs these terms and any dispute arising from or related to them or to Weight Care Edit, setting aside any Texas rule that would point to another state's law.

Any lawsuit about these terms or the site must be filed only in a Texas state court in Travis County or a federal court located in the Western District of Texas, Austin Division. You and we each agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to that venue. Nothing in these terms requires arbitration.

Jury trial waiver. Where the law permits, both sides give up the right to have any such lawsuit decided by a jury.

Class action waiver. Where the law permits, claims can be brought only by individuals on their own behalf, never as a plaintiff or member of any class, collective or representative action.

Before filing a claim, please write to the legal mailbox on the contact page so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can't resolve it within 60 days, either side may go to court.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date in the byline. If a change is significant, we'll note it at the top of this page for a while after it takes effect. Changes apply from their effective date and don't affect a dispute that arose before it. If you keep using the site once a change takes effect, you're agreeing to the updated terms.

General terms

• Entire agreement. These terms, together with the privacy policy, the health disclaimer and the disclosures they link to, make up the complete agreement between you and Weight Care Edit about the site.
• Severability. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part will be enforced as far as possible and the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver. If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We may assign ours, for instance if the site is sold or merged.
• No third-party beneficiaries. These terms create no rights for anyone except you and us.
• Headings. Section headings are for convenience and don't change what a section means.
