Payments in first 365 days

14

An initial charge today and renewals every 28 days produce 14 payments before day 365. The annualized comparison uses 365 ÷ 28; these are different measures.

That's our math, not the provider's figure.

How the monthly figure is worked out

Start with the price per charge. For four-week billing, multiply by 365 and divide by 28 to annualize it, then add 12 monthly membership fees. Divide by 12 for the monthly comparison. This is an annualized estimate rather than a count of cash payments.

A plan billed once a month lands twelve charges a year, so its monthly figure is simply the price. A plan billed every three months lands four charges, so one charge covers three months of care.

Why four-week billing costs more than it looks

Four weeks is 28 days, shorter than a calendar month. Thirteen intervals cover 364 days. If the first charge is today, renewals on days 28 through 364 produce 14 payments within the first 365 days; the final payment funds some later care.

A $249 charge every 28 days annualizes to about $3,246, or $270.49 per calendar-month comparison. The first 365 days include 14 cash payments totaling $3,486 before fees, with part of that final payment covering care beyond the year.

What the number leaves out

The result only counts what you type in, so it can't see a fee the plan page leaves out. Lab panels, a first visit billed on its own, or shipping can all sit outside the headline price.

A higher dose can also move you to a higher price on some plans, while others keep one flat price at every dose. Check which kind of plan you're on before you treat this figure as the cost for the whole year.

Read the provider's terms for the renewal date and the cancellation window too, since a charge that lands before you cancel still counts.
