Privacy policy

By Weight Care Edit, Publisher · Effective October 22, 2026

Weight Care Edit is a free reading site. You don't need an account to use it, and optional planning tools process the information you enter in your browser. This policy explains, in plain terms, what information we handle when you visit weightcareedit.com, why we handle it and the choices you have.

What we learn when you visit

Like most websites, Weight Care Edit receives some information automatically from your browser: the pages you view, the link or search you arrived from, your general location (worked out from your IP address, never precise), the type of device and browser you use, and how you move around the site. Our servers also keep routine technical records, such as requests and error reports, that help us keep the site working and secure.

We don't run accounts, sell anything or ask for payment details. The cost tools and filters on the site work in your browser, and what you enter in them isn't sent to us.

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply and, when you report a mistake, to fix it. Please leave medical records and personal health details out of your messages; we can't give personal medical advice and don't need them.

Cookies and browser storage

We use analytics cookies and similar browser storage to understand how the site is used, such as which pages people read and where they arrive from, and to remember the choices you make here, including your cookie choice. Google Analytics measures page views, widget impressions and provider-link clicks on the public site; unpublished previews do not load its tag. Events include page, provider, placement and anonymous experiment details, but not calculator answers or checklist entries. Browser storage is used for cookie choices and interface preferences. Our hosting provider may also use a short-lived check to tell people from bots.

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies at any time. If you do, the site still works.

Switching analytics off

Analytics runs unless you turn it off. The Cookie settings link at the foot of every page lets you opt out, or change your mind later. When you opt out, Google is instructed to deny analytics storage and existing analytics cookies are removed. Limited cookieless measurement signals may still be sent; the setting does not stop every network request. Your choice is saved only in the browser you made it in, so on another device, in a private window or after you clear this site's data, you'd need to set it again.

Global Privacy Control. Browsers and extensions that send the Global Privacy Control signal get the same result as opting out: analytics stays off unless you later turn it on in Cookie settings.

We don't respond to the older Do Not Track setting, which has no agreed meaning. Global Privacy Control is the signal we honor.

How we use what we learn

We use information to run the site and keep it secure, to see which pages are useful so we know what to update, to find and fix problems, to answer messages and to meet our legal duties. We don't use it to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Advertising and referral measurement

We do not sell contact lists or medical records, and we do not use targeted advertising pixels. Referral attribution is described below; some laws define sale or sharing broadly. You can deny optional analytics storage through Cookie settings and contact us about privacy rights. The site has no display ads.

Companies that work for us

A handful of outside companies help us run Weight Care Edit: our web host, our analytics service and our email provider. Their handling of information is governed by the services we use and their applicable terms and privacy notices. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or to investigate fraud or abuse. If the site ever changes hands, the information would go with it and stay covered by this policy.

Visiting a provider

Some of our links take you to telehealth providers and other sites we don't control. Once you leave Weight Care Edit, that site's own privacy policy applies. Providers will often ask for health and payment details as part of care, so read their policy before you share them. We do not receive your intake answers or clinical records from a provider.

Affiliate links pass referral information such as this publication's ID, source page, provider, placement, link position and experiment variant. The referral service and provider can process browser details, IP addresses and click identifiers under their own policies. Commission reports may include a conversion time, order value, status and commission amount. Choosing a provider link requests that external destination even if you have denied optional analytics storage here.

Keeping and protecting information

Information stays with us only while we reasonably need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires, and then we delete it or let it expire. The site is served over encrypted connections, and access to our tools and mailboxes is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold and we collect as little as we can.

Adults only

Weight Care Edit covers prescription medicine and is meant for adults. It isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a minor has sent us information, tell us and we'll delete it.

Your state privacy rights

California and a growing list of other US states give people rights over their personal information, and Weight Care Edit honors those rights for all US readers, whatever state you're in. Depending on the law that applies, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we have on you, and send you a copy;
  • correct information that's wrong;
  • delete information about you; and
  • opt out of any sale, sharing for advertising or profiling (we don't do these, but you can still ask).

How to ask. Email the privacy address listed on our contact page. Tell us what you want and which state you live in. We may need to confirm the request is yours, usually by replying to the address you wrote from. You can also have an authorized agent ask for you; we may check that you gave them permission. Requests are free, and we respond within the time the law allows. Using your rights never changes how the site works for you.

Appeals. If we decline a request, we'll tell you why. To appeal, reply to our answer and put "Appeal" in the subject line. We'll send our decision in writing. If you're still unhappy, you can contact your state's attorney general.

Outside the United States

Weight Care Edit is made for readers in the US and operated from the United States, where our service providers also process information. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is handled under US law. If the law where you live gives you rights over your information, write to us and we'll honor the requests we can.

Updates to this policy

When our practices change, we'll update this policy and its effective date. If a change is significant, we'll point it out at the top of this page for a while. The current version applies each time you visit.
